AMERICAN LEGION HALL AND/OR PAVILION RENTAL AGREEMENT
 
 
 
This agreement made and entered into this _____day of __________, 20__, by and between the American Legion Post 377 (lessor) and Lessee listed below.
 
The agreement with ______________________(lessee) for the use of the American Legion 377 Post Hall/Pavilion on ______day of _________ 20___ under all provisions that are contained hereunder.
 
1. FEES:  Lessor, upon payment of the reservation fee of $_____________ (Rental Fee) plus a Security Deposit of $_____________ agrees to permit Lessee to have exclusive use of the space described above with exceptions as outlined in this agreement.  The Security Deposit is refundable 10 business days after the rental date providing there was no damage  that occured to the rental facilities during the rental period.
 
2. RESERVATION TERMS AND CONDITIONS:  The Security Deposit is due at the signing of this Rental Agreement.  The balance of the rental price is due no later than SIXTY (60) calendar days prior to the rental date.  If the balance is not received within the allotted time, the American Legion Post 377 reserves the right to keep the Security Deposit automatically forfeiting your reservation rights. The rental facility will then be re-opened for rental usage.
 
3. FOOD SERVICE:  American Legion Post 377 will not be responsible for catered events in the Hall facility.  If the kitchen is utilized there will be an additional Kitchen Fee.  The kitchen MUST be cleaned up prior to vacating the building at the end of the event.
 

 

 
4. DECORATIONS: Only free-standing table decorations are allowed. DECORATIONS ARE NOT TO BE AFFIXED TO THE WALLS, CEILING, WINDOWS, DOORS IN EITHER THE HALL OR THE PAVILION. AT NO TIME WILL THE AMERICAN FLAG OR OTHER NATIONAL OR PATRIOTIC ITEMS BE COVERED IN ANY MANNER!! Balloons must be tethered to prevent interference with the air circulation system.  Confetti or glitter is not allowed in the hall or pavilion. VIOLATION OF THIS PARAGRAPH 4 WILL RESULT IN THE FORFEITURE OF YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT ______ (Lessee’s initials).

 

5. CLEAN-UP: Lessee is responsible for providing all trash bags for cleanup and is also responsible for disposing of all trash by placing the trash in bags  and depositing the bags in the dumpster located in the rear of the parking lot area.  Lessee is responsible for cleanup of the kitchen area.  If the building is not cleaned at the end of the event, Lessee will be billed for the time and material which will be deducted from the security deposit. ______ (Lessee’s initials).  The Pavilion cleanup includes the removal of all trash to the dumpster located at the rear of the parking lot area at the conclusion of the rental event.  All tables must be returned to the original location within the pavilion.  No staples or nails are to be used on the tables or structures.

 
6. ALCOHOL:  All alcohol must be purchased through the American Legion Post 377.  If this is a Hall rental, all alcohol must be consumed in the Hall.  If this is a Pavilion rental, all alcohol must be consumed in and on the Pavilion property. ALCOHOL CANNOT BE CARRIED FROM ONE LOCATION TO ANOTHER.
 
7. CHILDREN:THE LESSEE IS REQUIRED TO MAKE SURE THAT ALL MINOR CHILDREN ARE SUPERVISED BY AN ADULT AT ALL TIMES DURING THE RENTAL PERIOD. AMERICAN LEGION POST 377 DOES NOT HAVE A LIFEGUARD ON DUTY. LESSEE IS REQUIRED TO HAVE AN ADULT WITH ANY MINOR CHILD THAT WALKS ON OR NEAR THE BEACH/LAKE AREA. __________ (lessee’s initials).
 

 

8. SECURITY/MONITOR FEES:   All events involving alcohol consumption require a Monitor Fee.  Our Monitor is in place to oversee guests for underage drinking, misconduct or removing of alcohol from the rental location.  The Monitor reserves the right to give the Lessee warnings of any problems.  The event will be terminated for excessive misconduct and the security deposit forfeited.
 
9. Only bar staff of the American Legion Post 377 will be used as bar staff for any rental events.
 
10. The Pavilion music must end by 11 P.M. due to Independence Township Ordinance. we ask all  participants to be considerate of the residents in the living area nearby.
 
11. The Hall must be cleaned and vacated by 11 P.M. ______ (lessee’s initials).
 
LESSEE: I agree to the above terms and conditions for the rental and assume all liability for the conduct of my guests and any damages that incurs while the hall or pavilion is leased in my name.
